Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk

In exchange for being allowed to participate in the walks, group meetings, and related activities of [ENTITY NAME] ("the Program"), I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Assumption of risk. Walking and physical activity carry inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, overexertion, weather exposure, traffic and road conditions, and cardiac or other medical events. I understand these risks and choose to participate voluntarily.
2. Medical readiness. I confirm I am physically able to participate, or have consulted a physician. I will stop and seek help if I feel unwell. I am responsible for my own health, medications, and limitations.
3. Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the Program, its founders, organizers, and volunteers from any claims, injuries, damages, or losses arising from my participation, except those caused by their gross negligence or willful misconduct.
4. Photo & media release (optional). The Program may take a "starting line" photo and group photos. I grant permission to use these for the Program's records and promotion. [Founder: remove this clause if a photo release is not wanted.]
5. Governing law. This release is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
