You make a reasonable request you expect to be refused, hear the no, and say "fair enough" without explaining or pushing.

They say yes. Enjoy it, then pick a bigger ask for next time. The card wants the no.

Before
Rate your nerves from 1 (panicking) to 10 (at ease), and guess how it will go.

Play the card. A no counts. A bail counts. Walking up to the moment is most of the rep.

Rate your nerves again and say what actually happened. The gap between the two numbers is the workout.

Too big for tonight? Start at rank 2, The discount probe. Cleared it? Rank 4 is The borrowed hat.
