You ask to borrow a hat or accessory for one photo, offer something fun in return, and hand it back with thanks.

They hesitate. Let them off the hook right away. An easy exit for them keeps the ask kind.

Rate your nerves from 1 (panicking) to 10 (at ease), and guess how it will go.

Play the card. A no counts. A bail counts. Walking up to the moment is most of the rep.

Rate your nerves again and say what actually happened. The gap between the two numbers is the workout.
